Dr. Douglas Weine graduated with distinction from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology and Society. He then received his medical degree from Weill Medical College – Cornell University, and subsequently completed both his residency and fellowship at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center. He was selected to serve as Assistant Chief Resident during his Internal Medicine residency.

​During fellowship, Dr. Weine received training in advanced endoscopic procedures including Endoscopic Ultrasound, Endoluminal Stenting, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography. His training included time spent at multiple prestigious institutions including Weill Cornell Medical Center, Columbia Presbyterian, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Weine is Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for his outstanding achievements. As an active member of multiple Gastroenterological Societies, he has co-authored numerous articles and chapters for major GI journals, and has presented numerous abstracts at national and international GI conferences.

He joined Red Bank Gastroenterology in 2010. He is an attending physician at Riverview Medical Center, and also serves as the Director of the Ambulatory Care Center and Endoscopy. Dr. Weine has interests in Medical Information Technology and has been integral to the practice’s development of Electronic Health Records system and website management.

​As a resident of Monmouth county, Dr. Weine participates in local community outreach activities. His interests include giving regional talks and presentations related to common GI issues, and he also serves as a Team Co-Captain of the Undy 5K: a race designed to raise Colon Cancer Awareness.  Dr. Weine volunteers with his father at the Parker Family Health Center.  His hobbies include basketball, running, coaching his children, home improvement projects and playing with the family bunny Taco. As a busy dad of two children, he derives a great sense of pride from both his personal life and his commitment to quality patient care.
